In 'Application Preference Order' I click 'Add' and then I type 'xmms' into the dialogue box before clicking OK, 'Apply' then 'OK'. Now if I change into a directory under Konqueror containing an MP3 file and I click on it it asks me what program I would like to open the file with. If I type 'xmms' at this point and choose 'Remember application association for this type of file' it will launch the xmms and play the MP3 but it doesn't remember the application association.
