After upgrading the system to Debian 13 (Trixie) using the LXDE desktop
environment, LibreOffice (Writer and Calc)
Can't reproduce on a (new, empty) document in Calc.
stopped rendering background colors for cells and entire sheets/documents. The
issue occurs with both new and existing files. Backgrounds are just white, even
when another color is explicitly set. Text is still visible.
But yes, a writer table fails for me. too. Unless I enter some text there,
which is then highlighted. Is is not for you? Don't assume people know what you
mean..
Suspected cause:
Might be related to rendering issues (hardware acceleration, VCL plugin?) or
compatibility problem with LXDE/GTK3 in Debian 13.
Maybe, but (also see below) didn't you say you tried in different desktop
environments?
Installed VCLplugs:
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Inst/Conf-files/Unpacked/halF-conf/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend
|/ Err?=(none)/Reinst-required (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)

un libreoffice-qt5 <none> <none> (no description available)

So you tried in different desktop environments with GTK3 or did it fall back to
gen? Since there's no sign of KDE/kf6 here?

You also didn't say *how* you get the background. Conditional formatting?

(Though quickly looking over bugzilla I see background-related bugs but afaics
so far none directly related, but I definitely remember that commits happened
for it.))

In any case, 25.2.3 is in stable and won't get updates unless really necessary.
Thus bugs against stable make only a bit of sense without re-testing with
current LibreOffices.

Maybe you can try 25.8.1 (which is stable-backports) and report whether that
one works?

I at least get the same results in unstable in a clean VM as I have written
above for stable, though.

Rene
