Being strict about the SQL standard is a good thing in principle and the bug imho is that you didn't confirm to it/whatever hsqldb/the code created didn't. What is your table name? Does it contain special characters or so? Is it SQL 92 conform? However, I hit a further problem when I click to create the table I get a message: "SQL Status: SOO10 Error code: -62 Invalid argument in JDBC call: parameter index out of range: 12" As far as I have found out up to now this is something to do with the primary key.
