I recently attempted to edit a libre office base form. I was able to open the properties box for the controls: say text field, but was unable to access or change the settings - such as which data field a the text box was associated with. I first tried upgrading to the version in experimental (I'm running testing as the target) from 1:5.2.5-1 to 1:5.3.0-1. This did not correct the problem. I then made sure that my system was fully updated. It was. I then tried running libre office base from the command line to see if there were any relevant error messages. I got the following message any time I tried to access a control property: (soffice:15742): Gdk-WARNING **: Window 0x55f256e1f330 is already mapped at the time of grabbing. gdk_seat_grab() should be used to simultaneously grab input and show this popup. You may find oddities ahead. It sounds like the wrong method is being called or something. I performed an internet search for similar problems and found that a fedora bug report with a similar error message. In this report it was suggested that the problem had to do with libreoffice not working under wayland.
