Sounds like a deliberate change to me. And that this change was already in 5.1.x. Can we close it? Or this is merely a wish to get it back? Then I guess you should file that upstream (I won't pursue that, I don't use LO and tables in writer that much that I would care much) and try to get it changed back again.
