Did here too (even in jessie-backports) but didn't for some/many people with
big bad effects.

See the following thread:
https://lists.debian.org/debian-openoffice/2015/09/msg00154.html.

And e.g. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=799049

The problem is the upstreams default in 5.0 is to _disable_ gtk3 because
they know that it's not complete yet. I tried to enable it and it
went a long time under the radar. Now that it gets used at runtime
when the desktop is GNOME3 the issues appeared...

LO 5.1 will have gtk3 enabled per default upstream; let alone because that is
needed for LOKDocView and its introspection stuff which gnome-documents is
maybe) supposed to use if Pranavs patch is accepted :)
So it's tested then. So far noone who doesn't explicitely enable it gets
gtk3 in 5.0.x. It's not as we disable something which is enabled upstream...

I'd have liked it more if it was working too so we can keep it but..

It is. Actually we should aim for LO 5.1 either way given LO 5.0.x will
be out of life (yes, really, ridiculous EOL times) when stretch freezes...

We'll enable it with the first 5.1 alpha (or snapshot before that) to
experimental for sure for the above reasons.

Rene
