This bug has been around for a while for me, although I cannot produce a version number where it appeared. When I start OpenOffice Impress from the Gnome menu, the Presentation Wizard window has the text: Empty presentation >From template Open existing presentation and sometimes also the text: Do not show this wizard again missing. In particular, though the text itself is missing, the underscore that tells you which character is a hotkey is still there. Also, if you move the mouse over some of the gadgets, then sometimes the text will appear, and if you drag the window then all the text appears. The same pattern is followed on the following pages if you click the "Next" button. However, most surprising is the fact that if you take a screenshot with the GIMP, even though the text remains missing on the screen, it appears correctly in the screenshot that is acquired. So, I have no idea what package is causing this bug. I have only ever seen it occur on OpenOffice, so for the moment that seems the most appropriate target. It used to affect all the menus and popup windows, but I see that the menus now are working correctly, which is an improvement.
