Extra in what regard? I can't do an apt-get upgrade or apt-get dist-upgrade because of udev problems (I compile my own kernels here, and I am still trying to get around to getting a "modern" enough kernel that udev can work with). I don't NEED any extra packages, as most of what I do personally is emacs/LaTeX or emacs/DocBook. But, I often install other stuff because it helps if someone sends me a DOC (or other M$ file).
