I encountered 3 different bugs here, all complying to the same error description. When I open a Word (.doc) document which is produced on a machine running XP with office 2003. OpenOffice offers to save it default as ODF format (.odt). When I choose explicitely for 97/2000/XP format the error occurs.. 1. When the format Word 97/2000/XP (.doc) is chosen, I receive the message "some formats cannot be saved in Word 6.0 format". Either this is the wrong error message, or the wrong output filter. 2. The file suffix .doc is not added altough the box "automatic file name extension" is checked. No suffix at all is appended. 3. When the file is saved in this format (whatever the real format is, but selected as 97/2000/XP) the file is heavily corrupted when opened again in Word 2003. Artefacts occur like: - Tables have disappeared and are shown as the original contents interspersed with unreadable characters - Some pieces of the text don't show up - Some pieces of the text show up repeatedly.
