Hi all! I just found http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=301203, which describes exactly the problem I'm having with OpenOffice.org. It does not honor all the LC_* environment variables, just uses LC_MESSAGES for everything.
The bug report is closed and archived. However the behavior is still the same. The bug can be reproduced just as the reporter outlined. As far as I know, that is a long-standing problem in OpenOffice.org, so why was the report ever closed? Is there another tracker bug for the issue? And what is the status on fixing it upstream?
