They apparently use the myspell dictionaires in /usr/share/myspell/dicts/ and since hunspell-fr (rightfully) conflicts on myspell-fr, then the necessary dictionaires are missing in these other apps. There are some differences, but until we have specific dictionaries for all of them, then using the ones from France is a very good alternative. Certainly better than not having a dictionary at all :) It has been tested on fr_CA and fr_CH. Great, I'm glad to know that it's already fixed properly upstream in 3.0. The symlinks are a bit of a hack, but I thought that it would be the simplest solution to get this working for Lenny.
