Package: openoffice.org-common Version: 2.0.0-5 Severity: normal Hi,
Trying to send e-mail attachments via sensible-ooomua is broken on etch. The Python script sensible-ooomua requires the 'subprocess' module which is only available in Python 2.4 (as far as I can see). In a default etch environment Python 2.3 will be used and the script will fail. (I couldn't determine for sure if the subprocess module is available in an extra package for Python 2.3 in which case openoffice.org-common is just missing a dependency). Additionally I tried changing the symlink /usr/bin/python to python2.4 but still couldn't get sending mails to work. OpenOffice complained 'Unsupported mail client: sensible-ooomua'. Maybe my Python 2.4 configuration wasn't properly set up... Replacing sensible-ooomua by kmail in the OpenOffice internet options and then sending mail worked fine. Best wishes, Martin. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15.1-mk Locale: LANG=C, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages openoffice.org-common depends on: ii dictionaries-common [openoffi 0.64.1 Common utilities for spelling dict ii openoffice.org-core 2.0.0-5 OpenOffice.org office suite archit ii openoffice.org-l10n-en-us 2.0.0-5 English_american language package ii python 2.3.5-5 An interactive high-level object-o ii xml-core 0.09 XML infrastructure and XML catalog openoffice.org-common recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
