If one choose MySQL as DataSource in the DataSource Administration dialog, one
can further choose the type of connection to the database in the MySQL Tab. of
that Dialog.

If i choose Connector/J3 and supply the right URL:
<localhost>:<3306>/<database>
and a valid user and then try to login to the database by choosing the
tables tab, i get the errormessage, that its not possible to connect to
the database.

The database ist definitly up and running.

If i take a look in the logfiles from the mysql, i can NOT see, that OOo
even tryes to connect to mysql

if a particular peace of software is missing, the errormessage is
missleading, while one thinks the error is due to the values which one
supplied.

I don't know if this is helpfull:
tools->options->Security
it's not possible to enable java. Maybe this is the reason why JDBC is
not func., but if this is the case, the errormesseage is also
missleading.
