If i choose Connector/J3 and supply the right URL: <localhost>:<3306>/<database> and a valid user and then try to login to the database by choosing the tables tab, i get the errormessage, that its not possible to connect to the database. The database ist definitly up and running. If i take a look in the logfiles from the mysql, i can NOT see, that OOo even tryes to connect to mysql if a particular peace of software is missing, the errormessage is missleading, while one thinks the error is due to the values which one supplied. I don't know if this is helpfull: tools->options->Security it's not possible to enable java. Maybe this is the reason why JDBC is not func., but if this is the case, the errormesseage is also missleading. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.0 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Versions of packages openoffice.org-bin depends on: ii debconf 1.4.25 Debian configuration management sy ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-5 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libaudio2 1.6c-4 The Network Audio System (NAS).
