More information about the problem, still version 1.1.2dfsg1-3:
- The blinking freeze does not occur when I launch Impress without any
files as arguments (from gnome panel or a terminal), and then open one
of the outline-view files with the open dialog. However this works only
for the first file in one ooimpress session. When I try to open a second
outline-view-file with "open..." it freezes.
- The freeze occurs everytime, when impress is launched by
double-clicking a outline-view-file in nautilus, and also when launched
by "ooimpress someOutlineViewFile.sxi &"
- The freeze does not occur when I save said outline-view-files in the
slide-view mode and open them again (even after closing oo). When I save
them in outline-view again, the problem comes back, the next time I open
th file.

Thanks for the files. I can open them without problems on my system,
1.1.3-2, which I am about to upload to unstable today. Please can you
test against this version when it arrives? The problem may have been
fixed by this version already.
