Some more info: starting OOo as an idesk child process will make OOo crash, starting it as a fluxbox child process won't.
Also: I have another computer with almost the same setup that doesn't trigger the problem, the main difference I can think of is that in the working setup I didn't upgrade idesk to 0.5.6-4 (I still have 0.5.6-2) because of the uge librsvg2-2 dependency on gnome packages. More: downgrading idesk to 0.5.6-1 on the computer where OOo crashes, make OOo startup correctly!! hth -- mattia :wq!
