1. Please will you see if your crash occurs again if you replace
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/libpsp645li.so with the version here:
http://people.debian.org/~halls/openoffice/test/libpsp645li.so.bz2
It fixes several bugs in the printer parsing code.
2. You can probably work around this by adding this line to
/etc/openoffice/openoffice.conf:
export SAL_DISABLE_CUPS=1
(I will keep the bug report open until your original problem is solved,
though)
