Package: openoffice.org Version: 1.1.2-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
openoffice crashes when running under gnome in current sid, but NOT when running under twm or icewm. There are two possible ways of crashing: 1) start oowriter: $ oowriter Starting configuration import into user data .. .. importing layer file:///tmp/oooLocale.XXXXuTS4y6 - succeeded $ and finished, nothing more 2) start oowriter, the spash screen appears, then an error window: "An unrecoverable error has occurred. All modified ...." and I get a long trace in the terminal: Fatal exception: Signal 11 Stack: /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libsal.so.3[0xb728f324] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libsal.so.3[0xb728f4b1] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libsal.so.3[0xb728f57c] [0xffffe420] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libsfx645li.so(_ZN19SfxFrameLoader_Impl6detectERN3com3sun4star3uno8SequenceINS2_5beans13PropertyValueEEE+0x104b)[0xb25f5573] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libfwl645li.so[0xb37fa9d0] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libfwl645li.so[0xb37f92b0] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libfwk645li.so[0xb191b0e3] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libfwk645li.so[0xb1925238] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libfwk645li.so[0xb1918adc] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libfwk645li.so[0xb19335e8] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin(_ZN7desktop7Desktop11OpenDefaultEv+0x51c)[0x8068ea4] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin(_ZN7desktop7Desktop11OpenClientsEv+0x202c)[0x8068908] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin(_ZN7desktop7Desktop16OpenClients_ImplEPv+0x11)[0x80664e5] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin(_ZN7desktop7Desktop24LinkStubOpenClients_ImplEPvS1_+0x18)[0x80664d0] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so[0xb7effdf4] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_Z19ImplWindowFrameProcPvP8SalFrametPKv+0x436)[0xb7f00650] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_ZN12SalFrameData19HandleClientMessageEP19XClientMessageEvent+0xb0)[0xb7f622f8] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_ZN12SalFrameData8DispatchEP7_XEvent+0x5c4)[0xb7f62bda] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_ZN10SalDisplay8DispatchEP7_XEvent+0x2a0)[0xb7f8f67e] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_ZN10SalDisplay5YieldEh+0x10a)[0xb7f8f3b8] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so[0xb7f8b003] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_ZN7SalXLib5YieldEh+0x3cc)[0xb7f89b08] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_ZN11SalInstance5YieldEh+0x34)[0xb7f92cc0] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_ZN11Application5YieldEv+0x61)[0xb7db00e3] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_ZN11Application7ExecuteEv+0x35)[0xb7dafff5] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin(_ZN7desktop7Desktop4MainEv+0x1f56)[0x8065a44] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(_Z6SVMainv+0x49)[0xb7db4d03] /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libvcl645li.so(main+0x4c)[0xb7f884dc] /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xfa)[0xb6bcc7da] Abgebrochen (core dumped) This error has occurred several times and I have tried the following things: - starting oo with LANG=C LC_MESSAGES=C oowriter - starting with different installed and not installed languages Interestingly oowriter starts without any problems as soon as I switch to IceWM, TWM or anything else then gnome. I have made a trace for both runs, but the differences are quite big to be analyzed by hand. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-rc1-mm1 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Versions of packages openoffice.org depends on: ii dictionaries-common [openoffi 0.22.30.1 Common utilities for spelling dict ii openoffice.org-bin 1.1.2-2 OpenOffice.org office suite binary ii openoffice.org-debian-files 1.1.2-2+1 Debian specific parts of OpenOffic ii openoffice.org-l10n-de [openo 1.1.2-2 German language package for OpenOf ii openoffice.org-l10n-en [openo 1.1.2-2 English (US) language package for ii ttf-opensymbol 1.1.2-2 The OpenSymbol TrueType font -- no debconf information Herzliche Grüße Best wishes Norbert ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Norbert Preining <preining AT logic DOT at> Technische Universität Wien gpg DSA: 0x09C5B094 fp: 14DF 2E6C 0307 BE6D AD76 A9C0 D2BF 4AA3 09C5 B094 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
