Package: openoffice.org Version: 1.1.0+1.1.1rc3-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Attempting to start openofficece causes my system to complian about its RC files. Deleting these and restarting as per README.Debian causes the following output: | $ rm ~/.sversionrc ; rm -r ~/.openoffice ; openoffice | rm: remove write-protected regular file `/home/broonie/.openoffice/1.1.1/THIRDPARTYLICENSEREADME.html'? y | OpenOffice.org for Debian - see /usr/share/doc/openoffice.org/README.Debian.gz | running openoffice.org setup... | Setup did not complete properly - cannot find an entry in ~/.sversionrc .sversionrc contains: | [Versions] | OpenOffice.org 1.1.0=file:///home/broonie/.openoffice/1.1.1 Adding a new line saying: | OpenOffice.org 1.1.1=file:///home/broonie/.openoffice/1.1.1 allows startup to complete and the program to apparently run succesfully though the following output is produced on the console: | $ openoffice | Starting configuration import into user data .. | .. importing layer file:///tmp/oooLocale.XXXXTyaM61configimport.bin - | Unhandled exception caught in main: "no service object raising singleton /singletons/com.sun.star.configuration.backend.theDefaultBackend" and a dialog warning that StarOffice was unable to open the central configuration and will proceed with local configuration only is produced. I suspect the problem is caused by the mismatch between the versions of the various packages or by a partial transition to 1.1.1 in the RC versions.
