Result: Top shows soffice.bin using about 97% cpu, all redrawing of the screen in all OO windows ceases. The specific process using CPU is the top level soffice.bin process. (as viewed by ps fx, which shows the command as "/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin private:factory/scalc") Telling WindowMaker to kill the app does not succeed in killing it, I actually have to do kill <pid> at the command prompt to stop it. (The regular TERM signal is sufficient to terminate it.)
