Package: openoffice.org Version: 1.1.0-3 Severity: wishlist One important situation where there is a gap in free software is the conversion of latex documents into M S Word documents. Many of us write in latex, but every now and then, there are weird situations where the file has to be converted into a Word document in order to give it to somebody else.
The best path that I know is the following: * Run latex2html -split 0 file.tex * Read the file.html file into M S Word * Tell him to save as Word document. Now the file.html file is equally visible to Openoffice. But when I feed the .html file to Openoffice, he does not give me an option to save as Word. He should. That'd be really neat. I would not need to go to Windows for the above situation. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux sanna 2.4.17 #2 Sun Feb 10 18:45:12 IST 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages openoffice.org depends on: ii dictionaries-common 0.16.0 Common utilities for spelling dict ii openoffice.org-bin 1.1.0-2 OpenOffice.org office suite binary ii openoffice.org-debian-files 1.1.0-2+1 Debian specific parts of OpenOffic ii openoffice.org-l10n-en [openo 1.1.0-2 English US language package for op -- no debconf information -- Ajay Shah Consultant [EMAIL PROTECTED] Department of Economic Affairs http://www.mayin.org/ajayshah Ministry of Finance, New Delhi
