Usually OpenOffice.org (oowriter mainly) started on my system (2Ghz Athlon XP 256 DDRAM) in about 20-30 seconds. On the last days (and two or three aptupgrades) I've noted that it now takes about 80 seconds to start (with any user of the system, not just mine). I've a timed strace output (running under with strace it took about 3 minutes to start) which is about 1MB compressed (42 MB uncompressed), please ask me to send it if you wish.
