Because you used apt wrong? apt-get {dist-}upgrade would have upgraded all packages. Using apt-get install selectively after an apt-get update to install just a newer version of package foo is not the good way[tm]. Yes, this is a bug and is going to be fixed but this is IMHO not release-critical. Regards, Rene
