debian-openoffice is a developers' mailing list for " Coordination of the maintenance of the OpenOffice packages in Debian". You would be better off posting to debian-user. However, I can make the following suggestions: As root, dpkg-reconfigure openoffice.org and this time choose "yes" to run faster. It will still take some time to open up the first time, but the second time you start openoffice, it will start faster. In addition, you can try (as ordinary user) rm -rf .sversionrc $HOME/.openoffice and restart openoffice. This zeroes your configuration and takes it back to the initial state. Conrad
