        Hi,

I am a newbie at this list, so sorry if this has been brought up
already (I
didn't see any mention at the Changelog in the CVS).

Right now I have not found any way of playing movies from OO, either as
plugins or with stand-alone programs:
        - The video option is greyed out, even if it is supposed to run under
Windoze
        - Running a stand-alone does not seem to work as OO grabs the full
screen in
presentation mode.

(BTW, I know that animated GIF works, and I have used it)

I have seen a recent patch at OOForum that is supposed to make the
plugin
part work with the mplayer plugin for Mozilla:
http://www.openoffice.org/project/www/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=12911

As is the case for the author of the plug, in my field of work movies
are
much needed to present the experimental data...

So, anyone has tried it? What is the way of suggesting the inclusion of
that
patch into the debian OO package? (I have a not too fast computer, so
compiling it myself would take a loooong time).

        Juan
