Package: openoffice.org Version: 1.0.1-7 Severity: normal
These are probably upstream, but... 2 scenarios: * Without running the printer admin tool to install any extra drivers, I do the following. 1. File->Print 2. Select "Print to file" 3. In the default directory ($HOME) use filename yip.pdf and choose "PDF" as the "File type". 4. Save. 5. OK. Now, I really do expect to get a PDF file and am totally surprised when I don't (and I get a postscript file). When I think about it carefully, I realise that the "File type" widget should say "Show files of type". * I install the PDF converter filter. Since I'm naive or lazy, I don't select the long "gs ..." command that a newbie wouldn't realise the significance of. That means the default command is still "lpr". When I print, it possibly does convert to PDF, but my print filters will convert it back to postscript and just print it. Surely the long "gs ..." command should be the default command for the PDF converter? By the way, thanks for packaging OpenOffice.org. The packaged version seems to run much more stably than my old hand-installed copy...
