Please note that this is a problem reported on forums.debian.net and not with my install. See https://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=161471 firmware-iwlwifi_20240709-2~bpo12+1_all.deb does not contain required firmware for AX201 wifi chipset but Trixie's firmware-iwlwifi_20241210-1_all.deb resolved the issue.
