Yep, I posted prematurely. I found in the TDE Wiki that you have to add their repositories. I had previously seen some scraps of instructions for installing TDE using apt, and I missed the context of the configured repositories. Thanks for the rest of your remarks. I've been pretty pleased with the KDE version distributed with Debian Trixie. I run email for myself, so I am a POP3 user. There still some of us out there.
