This bug has been hurting me for one year. It does not work on my amd64
machine newly installed either, still I don't understand why other
people do not have the same problem. Pushing RC as no Java GUI program
work on my machine.
Right now for instance I use the example of

Exo1.java ; java Exo1, all the components (window, buttons) are
insensitive to mouse and TAB key. The components have wrong sizes.
