If libgcj7-jar or libgcj8-jar are installed, the reported issue occurs (with java|gij-4.1|gij-4.2). Process the attached file (a simple test article taken from the docbook-xsl test files) with the following command: $ /usr/bin/java \ -Djava.endorsed.dirs=/usr/share/java \ org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process \ -out myfile.html \ -in article.001.xml \ -xsl /usr/share/xml/docbook/stylesheet/nwalsh/html/docbook.xsl Instead of /usr/bin/java you can of course directly use /usr/bin/gij-4.x or Sun's java executable.
