I don't know if it makes any difference in the arch, but attached is the gzipped pre-processed source from my i386 machine. Since this is not something that happened on my local machine, or a machine I have direct access to, it's difficult to reproduce the exact conditions.
- did an earlier version build the package? which one?
Looking at the buildd logs, the package has never successfully compiled on Alpha.
- does gcc-3.4 and/or gcc-snapshot build the package?
I don't know of a way of testing this, I don't have an Alpha machine available. It compiles successfully on other arches, so I can only assume it's an Alpha-specific bug, or possibly a misconfiguration on buildd.
You may want to ask [EMAIL PROTECTED] to install the required build and gcc dependencies on an alpha machine.
