Versions compatibility

Hi everyone!
Here's my trouble: a few days ago I've upgraded gcc
to 3.0 and the package name no longer looks like 'gcc',
but 'gcc-3.0'.
Now other packages depending on 'gcc' fail to install.
What should I do?
