Package: php-elisp Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: s...@debian.org Currently the elpa-php-mode connects to the internet to access php-doc; however, when I initially adopted the package, I had planned to configure support for a local copy of php-doc; however, I was blocked by #903999. Accessing the internet for the latest available documentation is a feature, but if the PHP versions don't match, then the docs will mislead. This is also arguably a generic privacy issue. Finally, in Debian we try to provide and operating system that is useful, and well-documented even when disconnected from a network.
Progress has finally been unblocked, but I find myself short on free time/motivation, and suspect that I'll forget to implement this fix...thus the need for this bug. One thing I'm not sure about is if elpa-php-mode should default to the internet copy or the local copy of docs, because there are good arguments for each option.
