I agree with David's rationale; however, it would be nice to be able to retain an Emacs mode for editing muttrc. Would you please contact upstream Neomutt to see if they would be willing to adopt it? I am willing to submit either a patch or PR, including extracting the muttrc-mode information from the emacs-goodies-el info page—if necessary, it is extra work after all. Also, I would be happy to help add the bits that would generate bin:elpa-muttrc to our src:neomutt package. There's also mutt-alias.el, which "allows you to lookup and insert the expansion of mutt mail aliases". Maybe upstream Neomutt could also include it in a contrib subdir? Regards, Nicholas
