Q: My system does not recognize the modem or I receive "MTHAL Hardware does
not support modem" message.

A: The system should recognize the modem during power up. Please check the
following:

(1) Check if there is any unknown devices in the device manager (look for
yellow exclamation marks '?'). If so, remove it.
(2) Remove any 'old' modem driver. From Control panel --> add/remove
programs
(3) Check that the modem is enabled in the BIOS? Is there setting for 'modem
on riser' 'MC97 modem' or something that relate to modem? (For CNR/AMR
modems only)
(4) Check for jumpers on the motherboard to enable/disable modem on riser
