Is this needed at all? (See the other thread). If all the current flavors of Emacs automatically add the subdirectories in the load-path, we don't need to do it separately. Right? So we could simply remove the tweaking of load-path, directly or indirectly. I have probably missed something. If so, please tell me (in a non confrontational way please; I do Debian stuff because I like it; I'll stop when it ceases to be fun). Peter
