Hello, I have been using Debian for about two weeks now and I am very impressed by it. I have question regarding package installation when there are dependency problems.
Using dselect, I tried to install the records package. (I am working from the CD's of potato release 3 and a modem connection.) When dselect tries to set up the records package, it encounters an error when trying to build records-utils.el because it cannot find mc-pgp. When I try to install mailcrypt, dselect says it needs pgp, gnupg, etc. But the version of gnupg available conflicts with the version of mailcrypt available. I know I could go download the most current versions of these packages and build them all myself, but what is the best way to handle this to accomodate the package system? Thanks for your time.
