I just finished reading the article on SATAN in the August '97 Linux Journal. SATAN can find weaknesses in the network configuration. I realize it can be a bad thing or a good thing, depending on the user's intent. I joined Debian after SATAN came out. Was there some decision made at that time that a SATAN package would be a bad idea?
