Umm, what kernel were you running before? The kernel has defaulted to mounting the root read-only for a *long* time (before debian-1.3, I thought), and then remounting it in the rc scripts -- grep shows: /etc/rcS.d/S10checkroot.sh:mount -n -o remount,rw / /etc/rcS.d/S10checkroot.sh:mount -o remount,rw / -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
