This is from the README file: Bezerk is an IRC client written with the GTK toolkit. It is currently being developed under RedHat Linux, and is released under the GNU Public License.
This is a pre-alpha release of Bezerk, and it is far from complete. It should be usable for everyday IRC usage though. I take no responsibility for anything it does to you or your system, use it at your own risk. When I am helping new users on IRC, and they want a client that is a bit more comfortable (ie, similiar to a certain popular client for windows), there aren't too many choices available. Zircon: very very slow Tkirc: still slow K.*irc: not free So I'd like to package this, even if it is still alpha'ish.
