The lq tool resolves and displays symbolic links and attributes encountered while resolving paths. I think this fills a useful niche in Debian, for displaying some of the symbolic link chains that exist in the distribution, but aren't easily visualized using other tools. For example: lq /usr/bin/java /usr/bin/gcc /usr/bin/java -> /etc/alternatives/java /etc/alternatives/java -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-21-openjdk-amd64/bin/java /usr/lib/jvm/java-21-openjdk-amd64/bin/java /usr/bin/gcc -> gcc-14 gcc-14 -> x86_64-linux-gnu-gcc-14 x86_64-linux-gnu-gcc-14 I am the upstream author, and am happy to package this myself, or work with someone else. I am also a former, lapsed Debian Developer (username kims), interested in becoming active again and helping out more generally where possible!
