* Package name : gallia Version : 2.0.0b2 Upstream Contact: Stefan Tatschner <[email protected]> * URL : https://github.com/Fraunhofer-AISEC/gallia * License : Apache2 Programming Lang: Python Description : Extendable Pentesting Framework Gallia is an extendable pentesting framework with the focus on the automotive domain. The scope of the toolchain is conducting penetration tests from a single ECU up to whole cars. Currently, the main focus lies on the UDS interface. Acting as a generic interface, the logging functionality implements reproducible tests and enables post-processing tasks. Relevance: Gallia is an open-source automotive penetration-testing framework focused on UDS diagnostics, ECU testing, and reproducible security analysis. As vehicle systems become increasingly software-driven, gallia provides essential tooling for researchers and auditors to assess automotive security using a transparent, Linux-native solution. Including gallia in Debian expands the Debian's security toolset into the growing automotive domain. Gallia is Apache-licensed, actively maintained, and has minimal dependencies, making it straightforward to package while supporting professionals working in embedded and vehicle security. Maintenance: I am the upstream maintainer of gallia and I would maintain the Debian package. However, I am not (yet) experienced in Debian packaging work and I would be glad if I could get help from the community. Perhaps the best opportunity would be a packaging team. I would try to join the Python packaging team as well. Prior Work: I already filed a RFS bug. It was recommended to open a ITP against wnpp as well. The original RFS bug is here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1118001 The mentors package is here: https://mentors.debian.net/package/gallia/ The debianized source is here: https://salsa.debian.org/rumpelsepp/gallia Regards, Stefan
