Hi,
uscan with new debian/watch format version 5 is ready (available in
experimental).
Of course this version of uscan is still able to read current formats. The main
changes in version 5 are:
- rfc822 style (like other debian files)
- "templates" that permit to calculate automatically sources. Example:
Version: 5
Template: Github
Author: guimard
Project: llng-docker
Note that there are also a uscan command and a salsa command to basically
update debian/watch.
Contrib are welcome to add templates (currently we have Github and Metacpan).
I propose to release it to unstable, then backports. And then we will be able to
push it into debci machines (else tracker will report errors for all version-5
files).
What do you think ?
It looks like there is a slight possible entanglement between uscan v5
and the transition to move git-deborig from bin:devscripts to
bin:git-debpush, which I've been working on.
We're just finalising the packaging changes in src:dgit[1] and then I
was planning to upload both packages to unstable.
I didn't realise this would mean I would be releasing uscan v5 :)
It's sid, though, we have it for the sake of making transitions.
So is it okay with you if I upload both packages as I planned?
Thanks.
Hi Sean,
sure you can, thank you! I kept all version=4 tests to verify that there
is no regression, so I think everything is OK
Best regards,
