What if the person does not want to use dselect? Many people (not me) prefer to download packages themselves, and dpkg -i them. Now that ftp is removed, they would either have to download netstd using something other than linux, or use dselect to download netstd. Given some people's dislike of dselect, this will be a major complaint. Please leave ftp in, and I still think netbase should include it. telnet isn't that improtant.
