Hi Holger, hi all,

we need the cleanup on the Debian web pages for several reasons,
esp. if we want to move from old WML generated web pages to a modern
system. We cannot affort the work to migrate all pages we had in the
past. That's why I want to concentrate on more important pages and
we all know people have different oppinions on that.
See also my talk from last year:
https://berlin2024.mini.debconf.org/talks/19-past-changes-and-future-plans-for-the-debian-web-pages/

That means, we may break links, but that does not mean that the Debian
history document is no longer worth anything. On the contrary, it is
worth more than before. We may not have all original sources of
information or links may be broken. It's the normal path in history, that
some things get lost and forgotten, but we try keep the important information.

As a hint, you should use lists.debian.org as the primary source for information
(for e.g. all the Debian news) because this will not be deleted
although we may lost the translations which were only available on the
web pages.

In the document all links to gallery.debconf.org are also broken
(because we shut down this site), but still the Debian history is worth
without the pictures.

Holger, please keep up your good work on the Debian web things, and I
hope to meet you at a Debian conference sometime.
