As one of the OpenDev Collaboratory sysadmins, I don't know how "infamous" that is on our end. There's no metadata for archived project status, just a convention that projects empty out their default Git branch and replace the readme with ad hoc information about ceasing maintenance or moving to another service. Also OpenDev currently only hosts a few thousand projects, nothing like the scale of GitHub, so I wouldn't recommend building large-scale workflows around our loose-knit community patterns. -- Jeremy Stanley
