Version 4.4 of apt-listchanges is now available for testing in experimental (N.B., we released 4.3 and 4.4 a day apart because something came up last-minute, so make sure to `apt update` before installing so you get 4.4). It has both functional changes and bug fixes in it.

Most notably, we've added version-number-based filtering of changelog entries for local changelog files, whereas before it was being used only for network changelogs. (Note that the version-number-based filtering in this version of apt-listchanges is more cautious than the filtering in 3.27, to minimize the likelihood of failing to show the user something they should have seen.)

In addition, there is a performance improvement when displaying both news and changelogs.

Other changes are documented in the package's changelog.Debian.gz should you wish to review them.

I am hoping this release is stable enough to build/release to unstable after some end-user testing without any additional changes. We'll see!

Thank you,

Jonathan Kamens
