* Package name : et2en Version : 1.0.4 Upstream Author : Agis Theodoropoulos <a...@eureton.com> * URL : https://github.com/eureton/et2en/ * License : EPL, GPL Programming Lang: Clojure Description : Command-line tool for translating Estonian into English. A command-line tool for English-speakers who are learning Estonian. For each word provided on the command-line, et2en: * finds lemmas * identifies grammatical form with respect to each lemma * fetches definitions in English for each lemma et2en needs a connection to the web because it uses the following online resources: * filosoft.ee lemmatizer * filosoft.ee morphoanalyzer * glosbe.com dictionary et2en is a standalone executable, implemented in Clojure. It spins up a JVM instance on each run which shuts down on exit. - why is this package useful/relevant? It is relevant to English-speakers who are learning Estonian. It is useful because looking up a word is a tedious three-step process (i.e. first find the lemma(s), then look each lemma up in the dictionary, then identify the grammatical form of the original word) which requires a JS-capable web browser. The et2en tool cuts down on the tedium and presents the results -sensibly collated- on stdout. - is it a dependency for another package? No. - do you use it? Yes. - if there are other packages providing similar functionality, how does it compare? There aren't any. - how do you plan to maintain it? Alone. I am the author and it is a small enough package for a single person. - do you plan to maintain it inside a packaging team? There is no need for a packaging team. - are you looking for co-maintainers? No. - do you need a sponsor? No.
