I have raised my concern about this a few months ago and it seems this is not the consensus: <https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2019/07/msg00233.html> <https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2019/07/msg00234.html> My impression is that there are some people pushing sysvinit related work to all maintainers through this policy item but keeping quiet during discussions like this.
