I've now written and submitted all of these patches. Of the list of packages in https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2015/05/msg00287.html , aptdaemon no longer seems to exist in Debian, and configure-debian no longer hard-codes section names. I also provided a patch for neovim in addition to vim.
