dpkg-dev includes some ready to use makefile snippets which you can include like include /usr/share/dpkg/architecture.mk to just get DEB_HOST_ARCH_OS etc, or include /usr/share/dpkg/default.mk This requires dpkg-dev (>= 1.16.1) -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
